Please help as this is frustrating not being able to use the Quickset keys.

Try this out: You need to remove all the 8GB of system memory and load it up with 2GB and then restart your laptop. Try installing QuickSet 64 then.

Without removing any memory modules, start msconfig from the Start Menu or the Run prompt.
On the Boot tab, select Advanced Options...
Check Maximum Memory and set it to 2. Ok --> Ok --> Restart. (If 2 doesn't do the trick, you might have to specify megabytes, i.e. 2048).
Try installing Quickset again.
If it installs successfully, restart to complete any pending operations from the install, then undo the changes above and restart once more.
